SATCoL partner with Rushden Lakes for Let’s Go Green event

The Salvation Army Trading Company partner with Rushden Lakes for Let’s Go Green event SATCoL (the trading arm of The Salvation Army) is delighted to announce their attendance at the upcoming Let’s Go Green event at Rushden Lakes. The one day event is designed to promote initiatives to combat climate change and sustain our planet. SATCoL is the largest charity owned textiles collector within the UK, actively working to support organisations to reduce waste.

The fashion forward collaboration is an opportunity for the local community to support the circular economy whilst, raising vital funds for charity. The SATCoL team will be onsite at the Central Boulevard location from 11am until 4pm on Saturday 22nd October accepting charitable textile donations of pre-loved, clothing, handbags and shoes

The profits received from the resale of the items is given to The Salvation Army to support the great work they do throughout the UK. The Salvation Army provides specialist support for survivors and potential victims of modern slavery, shelter for those experiencing homelessness and so much more. Kirk Bradley, SATCoL’s Head of Corporate Partnerships, said “We are thrilled to be working with Rushden Lakes. It gives more people the opportunity to reuse and recycle their pre-loved items which helps reduce waste and raise more money for vital charity work.”

Once customers pre-loved items are received by SATCoL’s team, they will be delivered to a processing centre in Kettering where products are sorted and distributed to various channels for resale, including local Salvation Army stores. Textiles deemed as unwearable, are processed through SATCoL’s revolutionary Fibresort system which enables accurate sorting and grading of non-wearable clothing and textiles by fibre type, blend and colour for recycling back into the circular textiles supply chain.
