Love Island partners with eBay for 2022 series to champion second-hand clothing

As the largest textiles collector in the U.K. we’re proud to wave the flag to reuse and repurpose unwanted textiles. Working with some of the largest brands, we help to give garments a new lease of life and take the journey to become another customer’s treasure.

However, where better to discover some key seasonal fashion gems than on the Island of love with the cast of ITV’s hit series, Love Island. In the past, fashion brands have flocked to the contestants to dress them head to toe in their must have buys but this season sees a new partnership with eBay as its official fashion partner for the 2022 series. The Islanders to be given access to a wardrobe of preloved fashion for the first time.

The marketplace business has recruited celebrity stylist and vintage ambassador Amy Bannerman to style this year’s contestants. Amy has previously styled celebrities such as Dua Lipa, Rita Ora, Sophie Turner, Jonathan Van Ness and Lena Dunham.

The announcement encourages a wider conversation with viewers to explore preloved fashion. Mike Spencer, Executive Producer of Love Island, said: "We are thrilled to be pairing up with eBay this year as our pre-loved fashion partner. As a show we strive to be a more eco-friendly production with more focus on ways in which we can visibly show this on screen.

"This partnership will see our Islanders get to dive into the shared wardrobes and help themselves to some incredible pre-loved clothes sourced from eBay. We aim to inspire our demographic and show that there are incredible finds to be had and how sharing is, in some small way, caring."
