We Are We Wear launch online clothing bank with SATCoL

London based swimwear and lingerie brand, We Are We Wear, champion diversity, inclusivity and responsible sourcing within the fashion industry.  ‘Empowering every body to feel confident in their own skin’ is key to the brand’s ethos and their latest partnership with SATCoL, the trading arm of The Salvation Army, is the next powerful step in the retailers sustainability journey.

The online clothing bank is a charitable solution that allows customers to donate their pre-loved clothing, handbags and shoes, hassle free – via a local drop-off point. This means that instead of physically going into a charity shop to donate items, We Are We Wear’s customers can use the brands website as a channel to generate a free shipping label, choose a courier and locate a convenient place to drop off their generous donations.

As the largest charity owned textiles collector in the UK, SATCoL extend the useful life of products, and each year divert over 250 million items to good uses, including over 62,000 tonnes of textiles. With the support of the British public, SATCoL has donated over £80 million to The Salvation Army.

The profits that SATCoL receives from the resale of the generously donated items, is given to The Salvation Army to continue to support the great work they do, such as specialist support for survivors and potential victims of modern slavery, shelter for those experiencing homelessness and so much more.

Kirk Bradley, Head of Corporate Partnerships at SATCoL shared: “SATCoL is working to divert items away from landfill and support the fashion circular economy. Thanks to partnerships like this with We Are We Wear, more donated garments can be repurposed, resold and raise more money for vital charity work.”
